The land of the long white cloud has lived up to its name on how Aotearoa has handled the global pandemic. The green beauty of these two islands has been protectively hidden by the ‘long white cloud’, keeping us relatively safe from the impacts that other countries are facing. This collection came together from one image that has been imprinted in Jade’s mind since she first saw the picture in nature. “Sheltered” is what came to mind, and the feelings of gratitude and privilege are what followed.
This collection represents the simplicities of life that are in plain sight for all of us to enjoy. The use of B&W film is intended to bring some simplicity back into our imaginations.
